Certified nursing assistants play a key role as members of the comprehensive healthcare team in a variety of medical settings - hospitals, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, community care facilities and as home health aides in patient's homes. A certified nursing assistant's main role is to provide basic care to patients, as well as assist them in daily activities they might have trouble with on their own, such as bathing. Because of the personal nature of the job, certified nursing assistants should be compassionate and enjoy helping others.
